Our Story
It started with our three boys.
Imagine Now Play began with our family. Now we're inviting yours along for the Adventure.
Our journey with imaginative play started with our oldest son, who struggled with play when he was young. Over the years, our family spent a lot of time with incredible professionals in speech, occupational therapy, and behavioral psychology. Through those experiences, we started to see play differently.
Our family would later face another unexpected journey when one of our children experienced a serious medical event that led to developmental regression. Language and social interaction became difficult, and once again we found ourselves learning alongside the people supporting him.
Then all three of our boys had an opportunity that would shape the way we thought about play even further.
They attended an arts-integrated, drama-focused preschool where language, creativity, loose parts, storytelling, and imaginative play were part of everyday life.

Three brothers. Where this began.
There wasn't always a set of instructions.
There wasn't always a picture showing them what the finished project was supposed to look like.
A cardboard box wasn't just a box.
A piece of fabric didn't have one purpose.
A spoon could become absolutely anything.
And we got to watch what happened when children were given a reason to imagine—and then given the freedom to take it wherever they wanted.
We watched our boys create stories, explore ideas, communicate, interact with others, solve problems, make decisions, and build entire worlds out of ordinary things.
Through our experiences as parents, the professionals who supported our family, and the educators who gave our boys room to create, one idea kept coming back to us:

Real play at home — not staged product demonstrations.
Children don't always need us to show them what to make.
Sometimes they just need a reason to imagine.
That's where Imagine Now Play came from.
We wanted to take a little piece of what our family experienced and bring it into other homes.
Not as therapy.
Not as school.
And not as another craft kit where every child is supposed to make the same thing.
An Adventure.
A personal invitation that says someone is waiting for them.
A story that pulls them into another world.
A mission that gives them a reason to imagine.
A few carefully chosen imagination starters to get them going.
And three familiar friends who invite them to take it from there.
We provide the spark. They create the world.
Imagine Now Play is inspired by our family's experiences and is designed for entertainment and imaginative play. It is not therapy, medical treatment, or a substitute for professional educational, developmental, or healthcare services.
We saved a spot for them.
Their friends are waiting. Their first adventure is waiting. All that’s missing is their imagination.
